I am only 30 and I am already out of the newspaper industry for multiple reasons. I grew up dreaming of being a newspaper reporter and just as I was falling in love with the crime beat, everything started to change - layoffs, less oversight from editors, more work/expectations for one person, social media, video. I wrote a memoir about my career called DYING BREED: The true story of how the Internet killed my newspaper career. I think you and your followers would be interested in it. facebook.com/authoralexburk and http://www.unlimitedpublishing.com/burk

I knew Annie when she was a staff photographer with the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. Very nice , humble lady. Great to see her doing well.
